“Paralleling the Asian success with all Western culture instruments adopted, this guitar cohort does it well – but none better that Park” – MusicWeb International Guitarist, Ji Hyung Park came to fame by winning number of prestigious international guitar competitions including Pisa International Guitar Competition, Alessandria International Guitar Competition, and Tokyo International Guitar Competition. He started playing the guitar at his age of 9 and held his first solo recital at Kumho Gifted Concert at his age of 12 grade and was selected as a Kumho Young Artists in 2020. He entered Korea National University of Arts as a gifted student and graduated with top honor from artist diploma, then studied abroad in France in 2013 and studied under Judicael Perugia for 5 years. In 2014, he became the first Korean to enter as a guitar major at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and achieved his master’s degree studying under Roland Dianth and his assistant professor, Jean-Marcs-Veln-Röter. In 2018, he studied at San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the United States. Mr. Park won numerous international guitar competitions including 1st place in Pisa Stefano International Guitar Competition in Italy, 2nd place in Sohe Thomas Villa de Pedre International Guitar Competition in Spain, and 1st place Strata International Guitar Competition in Italy. In addition, he won 2nd place and special prize world famous competition – 50th Michele Pitaluga International Guitar Competition in Alessandria, Italy. In 2018, he won Changsa International Guitar Competition in China, and recorded his debut album on Naxos as the prize with releasing worldwide in February 2020. In 2019, he had a concert tour in 6 cities in China, and was selected as Kumho Rising Star in 2021 so he held a solo recital in Kumho Art Hall Yonsei. Recently, he made a duo with a guitarist Jinsae Kim, and had many concerts including 2021 Seoul Arts Center Summer Music Festival, Ulju Culture and Arts Center Invited Performance, Gunsan Arts Center Invited Performance, and The House Concert 24-hour Project, so he is trying to convey various attractions of a classical guitar to audience.
